2. Hold your phone about 10 - 12 inches away from your ear. You will begin with the left ear.

3. For at least 20 seconds slowly move your phone around your ear to scan in multiple angles.

4. Press the circular button at the bottom of the screen again to complete the scan.

5. Review the scan for accuracy. Make sure there are no gaps or distortion in the scan around the ear area. To review, rotate the scan in multiple angles to see if there are any gaps. Please make sure to fully review your scan before the blue bar at the top loads entirely; if your mesh loads before you get the chance to review your scan, please click the rescan button.

6. Complete the same steps for your right ear.

7. Follow the prompts to then take a photo of each ear and enter your information.

2. Hold your phone about 10 - 12 inches away from your ear and take a picture of your ear canal straight-on.

How to Get the Perfect Scan

1. Make sure to fully review your scan before the blue bar at the top loads entirely; if your mesh loads before you get the chance to review your scan, please click the rescan button. You'll see that the mesh has loaded as it will fill in all the gaps that were previously missing.

2. Ensure that you're scanning your ears in natural or neutral lighting; do not scan your ears in direct sunlight or in a dark environment as both will cause incomplete scans.

3. No need to focus on the rest of your face; the main area of importance is your inner ear (ie: your concha, tragus, antitragus, and external auditory canal). As such, please ensure that there is no hair obstructing your ear (either on the ear itself, or stray hairs).

4. Move your hand as slowly as you can when scanning; if you move too fast, either the app will stop the scan, or you will end up with a lot of areas of incompleteness.

FAQ

  1. I submitted my scans - now what?
You're done! Just make sure to check your emails (the one that you used to place your order); our team will be in touch and you will receive email notifications as your order moves through the process.
  2. What device can I use to scan my ears?
The Eargasm Ear Scanner App is compatible with any IOS device with Face ID.
  3. I ordered a custom product but I don't have a compatible device to submit my scans
No worries! There are a few ways to get your scans done without owning a compatible iPhone:

    • Borrow an iPhone or iPad with Face ID on it from someone you know.

    • Rent out an iPhone from websites such as ERentals or ComputerRentals. They do have a fee for the rental, but it is significantly lower than, say, going to an audiologist and getting a mold (and much more comfortable!).

    • Go to your local Apple store and use one of their devices with Face ID(No need to worry about your data as it will not be saved on the phone itself and is completely secure).

Any of these solutions is much cheaper and quicker than the alternative of going to an audiologist for an ear impression!
  4. The app is crashing/freezing when I'm trying to scan
The Eargasm Face Scanner app is only compatible with iPhones with Face ID technology; this feature is on the iPhone X and newer models.
  5. How come the scan stops shortly after starting?
Please make sure your ear is in frame of your phone's camera. If you go out of the frame, the scan will immediately stop because it cannot detect your ear.
  6. I see white sections in my scan, can I still submit these?
In order to avoid having to rescan multiple times to get that perfect fit, we recommend thoroughly reviewing your scans and make sure there aren't any distorted sections or areas of incompleteness (white spots) before submitting them.
  7. I have scans from an audiologist, can I use those?
Yes we do! After completing your order, feel free to send over your scans to info@eargasm.com; kindly make sure you include your name and order number. Please note that we only accept digital scans and not physical molds.
